Former Cop Found Guilty Of Armored Car Robberies - News Story - KTVU San Francisco: "Robert Steven Starling was charged with four felony counts of robbery, two felony counts of conspiracy, felony preventing or dissuading a witness or victim, two misdemeanor counts of false reporting of a crime, and misdemeanor wearing a mask for unlawful purposes.
The jury also found true four enhancements that Starling used a firearm in the robberies. Each enhancement potentially carries a 10-year term.
Police estimate more than $500,000 was stolen in three robberies. At the Bank of America on Grant Street in Novato on April 15, 2009, Starling allegedly grabbed an empty money bag, dropped it and fled.
His accomplice Andrew Cooper Esslinger, 27, of Santa Rosa, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and testified against Starling."
